Where is winter??

Well I learned the hard way that 2 year olds really arn't age appropriate for ice fishing. Justin and I thought that if Aspen had all the right gear on and we had plenty for her to do that she would love it. She loves to play in the snow so we thought for sure she would love ice fishing.....Oh my lord were we wrong! For starters my poor little girl got car sick on the way up to East Canyon and ended up throwing up all over herself and the car....sigh....So we pulled the car over and cleaned her up the best we could....mind you folks, this was nothing but scrambled eggs and milk that she threw up, I still can't get the smell out of my nose. By the time we got there she was so exhausted and I'm sure still not feeling well, we probably should've just dropped Justin off and went home, but we didn't....We put her in her inner tube and tried to pull her down the side of a huge hill to get down to the lake...well she freaked out, so I ended up carrying her all the way down. It sucked becuase every step you took you would sink a good foot or so down into the snow, talk about a work out. We finally got down to where everyone was fishing after I had blown my New Years resolution to stop using certain four letter words. Aspen was screaming her guts out at this point and literally did not stop until over an hour later when we were back in the car and driving down the canyon. We had to get me, her and a bunch of our crap back up the huge hil after being down there for no longer than a half of an hour. By the time I got to the top of the hill I didn't care about anything else, I saw my car and thought, "OMG I GET TO GO HOME!!" Justin stayed up there with my dad, Justin, his friend JJ, Brandon and Karlee and I guess they ended up having a pretty good day. I may end up going ice fishing again, but I think Aspen will wait until next year at least.

Karlee and Aspen looking in the ice hole. It made me so nervous having Aspen around the holes in the ice. I kept picturing baby Jessice who fell down the well when I was a little kid.....ugh.
Brandon

Dad
Brother

Hubby
This picture reminds me of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet too....dont kill me for saying that Karlee :)
Justin deciding which pole to use. He actually drilled two holes and fished with both!
Karlee and her neon jacket....

Can you tell I am having loads of fun?!?! It was super cold.
Justin and Brandon drilling a hole in the ice. Maybe Santa will bring them a gas powered auger for next year.
Aspen looked so cute in all her snow gear. She was like a little marshmallow.

Does this not break your heart?

On to funner times......
Aspen decided to try out her big wheel since the weather was warming up. The cabin fever has been killing the kid so we decided to go out and play. She hopped right on her big wheel and rode off into the sunset! She is such a big girl! If I even tried to help her she would yell at me, "NO! MOM! ME DO IT!"

Aspen is already asking if she can take the car....haha...

Hot Fisherman!

Justin and Brandon have gotten in a few last minute fishing days before it is too cold to fly fish anymore. It is almost time to switch over the ice fishing. Justin was pretty proud of his big brown trout so I thought I would post it for all of you to see! :) What can I say, I'm a proud wife, haha.

Check out the nasty gash in its nose! Ew!

SLEDDING!!!

We had so much fun today. We went sledding at Romer Park. It was the perfect day for it, the sun was shining and it was really warm out. My parents got us a snow tube for Christmas so we thought we would take it out and give it a try. Aunt E (Karlee) and Brandon came with us. We had so much fun! We even did a few runs without the sled under us, just on our butts!!! :) Aspen absolutely loved it. She looked so cute in all her sledding gear, like a little marshmallow! Hopefully I will still be able to find time to blog, but school starts on MOnday so most of my free time will disappear. I hope everyone is doing well and is having a Happy New Year!! :)

My little snow bunny. It was so funny to watch her try and walk in all that gear. She fell flat on her face multiple times. Poor little kid.

Justin and Aspen getting ready to fly down the hill. Karlee and I were getting them aimed in the right direction.
Justin and I were walking down the hill and holding on to each other and then he fell and pulled me down with him and both of us slid all the way down on our butts! This is how we discovered it was almost just as effective to go down without the tube as with it.
Aspen and Uncle Brandon playing in the snow.
Aspen liked laying on her stomach while we pulled her up the hill. It looks like she is going to bend in half the wrong way.

Justin and I were both pulling Aspen up the hill.

Happy family.

WOO HOO! We love sledding!!! :)
